Jakarta (28/08) – National property developer, PT Intiland Development Tbk continuously strengthens its business in the hospitality sector with the expansion of its Intiwhiz Hotel chain in big cities across Indonesia. With PT Intiwhiz International, one of Intiland’s subsidiaries specializing in hospitality industry, the company has added a new hotel to its Intiwhiz Hotel chain, with the new development of Grand Whiz Hotel Sunter.
President and Chief Executive Officer of PT Intiwhiz International, Moedjianto Soesilo Tjahjono, said that Grand Whiz Hotel Sunter is to be the fourth hotel from the five hotels the company has planned to develop in Jakarta. Besides the one in Sunter, Intiwhiz Hotel chain is developing other hotels in Cikini, Kelapa Gading area and on Jalan Hayam Wuruk.
Grand Whiz Hotel Sunter is located on Jalan Danau Sunter Selatan, which is one of North Jakarta’s business areas. The hotel is developed to cater to the needs of businesspeople for accommodation in the area.
“We chose Sunter as the area as it is one of centers for the business and industry in North Jakarta. The area has a very big market potential, as there are business travelers who need clean, practical, comfortable hotel, with easy access,” Moedjianto said.
The company develops Grand Whiz Hotel Sunter using strategic partnership business scheme. The company has signed an MoU with PT Trillium Land which acts as the partner. The MoU was signed by Moedjianto Soesilo Tjahjono, representing the management of Intiwhiz, and Kawan Kusuma Salim, President of PT Trilium Land in Jakarta some time ago.
PT Trilium Land is a company engaged in paper industry with the office located in North Jakarta. Since 2012, the company has expanded its business to hospitality industry, partnering with Intiwhiz to develop Grand Whiz Hotel Sunter.
The development of the hotel is to start in mid-2013 and will take one year to complete. The company has set the target for the hotel to go operational in mid-2014.
With the partnership, Grand Whiz Hotel Sunter will be managed by Intilwhiz and is to be the sixth Grand Whiz Hotel after those in Kuta, Nusa Dua, Denpasar, Makassar and Kelapa Gading. And the hotel is to be the 24th hotel out of the targeted 60 hotels in Intiwhiz chain to be developing within the next five years.
Moedjianto explained that Grand Whiz Hotel Sunter would be built on an area of 2,360 square meters. With 10 stories, the hotel will have 160 rooms with the size of 22 to 24 square meters. The room rates will start from IDR 500 thousand per night. The hotel is developed with the investment value of around IDR 70 billion; it will come complete with facilities, such as meeting room, restaurant, swimming pool, business center, and convenience store.
The management of Intiwhiz is optimistic that Grand Whiz Hotel Sunter will become one of the favorites in the area. Besides playing in a pretty wide market segment, the hotel offers a number of advantages from the point of view of its location, facilities and services.
Related to its location, Grand Whiz Hotel Sunter is relatively easy to reach and it requires only 30 minutes to get to the hotel from Soekarno-Hatta International airport or Tanjung Priok Seaport. The location which is not far from industrial estate will support the mobility of the guests to commute to Sunter or Kelapa Gading office area.
Moedjianto believes that Sunter has a very good prospect for hotel business. This is due to the fact that the number of hotels in Sunter is still relatively small, whereas the demand for hotels in the area is quite high as the area is one of the business hubs with industrial segments comprising factories, automotive industry and warehousing.
Along with the strategy to strengthen the hospitality business, the company will also continue to expand its Intiwhiz hotel chain in a number of cities in Indonesia. The expansion strategy may use one of the several schemes: strategic partnership with landowners, build-operate-transfer (BOT), or with Intiwhiz as the hotel operator management.
The company is also commited to developing Whiz Hotel chain to many cities in the country. Besides in Yogyakarta, Semarang, and in Bali, Intiwhiz hotel chain will be developed in big cities across Indonesia, such as in Jakarta, Bogor, Bandung, Pekanbaru, Balikpapan, Makassar, Surabaya, Malang, Palangkaraya and Manado. ***
