Corporate Social Responsibilities

Being an inseparable part of the Indonesia’s unity in diversity, Intiland believes that a company’s success is not defined solely by its financial returns. Our success is also measured by the company’s commitment to consistently developing program initiatives with the objective of encouraging social and economic empowerment, while meeting the expectations of our employees, the communities in which we operate, and no less importantly social in general. As a means of “giving back” to the communities, Intiland has remained committed to conducting various activities of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Through careful selection, a number of proposed activities were conducted throughout the year 2010. These programs covered social aspects such as education, health, sports, infrastructure, environment, disaster relief and other related social activities.

Education

With education being regarded as a primary need, Intiland has conducted programs aimed at advancing the community’s educational level. Intiland’s educational activities include such programs as providing internship and organizing a charity concert. In 2010, Intiland held an international conference in corporation with the University of Indonesia, and hosted Japanese students on their comparative study visit to Regatta.

Health and Healthy Lifestyle

Health is a major issue in everyday life. With that in mind, Intiland provides assistances and donations in various activities to support better health and healthcare. The Company conducted blood drives with employees as the blood donors and held an educational seminar on children healthcare (PESAT 11) in corporation with Yayasan Orang Tua Perduli. In 2010, 1Park Residences donated a portion of land to the people of Gandaria Selatan to serve as the future site of a community-based health care system (POSYANDU).

Sports serves many purposes for humans. Aside from keeping one healthy and fit, a team of any particular sports functions socially as an event that strengthens the bond among people living in a community. In 2010, Intiland conducted a futsal tournament with the media and employees, as well as organizing a junior golf championship. Intiland also held an event to award the achievements of Indonesian karate athletes and sponsored the Indonesian table tennis team.

Environment and Improvement of the Living Conditions

As environmental awareness is becoming increasingly important, Intiland has initiated various green projects conforming to new eco standards. A standout activity in 2010 was the harvest of Graha Famili farms. With Graha Famili residents being the participants, such environmental activity included harvesting various vegetables and fruits from the organic farms. Residents also received tips on gardening at home, composting fertilizer and recycling. In a symbolic gesture, the developer urged the residents to release birds to the Graha Famili Area. It’s an effort to increase the population of avian species in the area. As infrastructure plays an important role in improving the living condition of a society, Intiland has taken strides to contribute at best toward the betterment of the society.

To increase the productivity of a local community, Intiland has organized various activities such as reclaiming land to build roads in villages in Ngoro, Mojokerto and Pungging. In Ngoro, Intiland also reclaimed land to repair the village’s infrastructure as well as building a local elementary school. In 2010, the Company renovated a police and a marine outpost in Pluit, Jakarta to support local law enforcement activities. The Company was also involved in the painting of road.

Disaster Relief and Other

The eruption of Mount Merapi severely affected the population of Yogyakarta and its vicinity. As a socially responsible company, Intiland donated relief and support on several occasions. The Company’s founder Hendro Gondokusumo gave aids through PERMIT organization. One of Intiland’s subsidiaries, Intiwhiz with its first chain hotel, Whiz Hotel Yogyakarta, pro actively participated in relief programs in close association with PHRI, ASITA and Yogyakarta’s Tourism Department. For one whole month, 3% of the room rates was allocated for donations. Whiz Hotel Yogyakarta also organized a blood drive and participated in the cleaning of volcanic ashes in corporation with PHRI. In Sleman,Yogyakarta, PT Intiland Grande Surabaya distributed aids directly to disaster victims in the refugee settlements. The assistances, which were collected from the Company, the employees and other donators, were channeled to refugees from the disaster-affected area. The Intiland Grande disaster relief team witnessed first hand the devastation caused by the eruption.

Whiz Hotel Yogyakarta also donated to local taxi drivers and becak riders, in support of local public transports. Other notable social activities held during the year were donation to celebrate the anniversary of Yogyakarta as the special district, donation to youth organization (KarangTaruna) in Kutogirang Village. Intiland also conducted an Open Dialogue Forum in association with HIPMI Jaya at the Four Seasons Hotel in Jakarta, and held a meeting on tourism at Whiz Hotel Yogyakarta. Indonesian people highly regard religion as one of the most important aspects in life.

During 2010, Intiland had given ample contributions to support a number of religious activities. In addition to hosting a Christmas party for orphans, Intiland gave donation to several churches in Jakarta. Other contributions include the donation to Pengajian (Qur’anic Recital), alms giving (Zakat Fitrah) and livestock donation for Idul Adha.
