Jakarta (19/05) – PT Intiland Development Tbk (Intiland; DILD) has reaffirmed its commitment to implement sustainable development practices. Through a range of strategic initiatives, the Company consistently strives to maintain a balance between business growth, environmental preservation, and social responsibility.

Intiland’s Corporate Director Theresia Rustandi stated that Intiland measures its business progress not merely through economic and financial indicators, but also by its sustainability performance across various aspects. As an experienced property developer, Theresia explained that Intiland continues working to minimize the negative impacts of its operations and development activities.

“This commitment reflected in the core principal of corporate sustainability, which is building a healthy and high-quality environment while giving a meaningful contribution for the city and community development. This principle serves as the foundation for Intiland’s various initiatives in environmental management, social responsibility, corporate governance, and corporate social responsibility programs,” Theresia said in a written statement, Monday (19/05).

On the environmental aspect, Intiland applies construction approaches that emphasize efficiency and carbon emission awareness. The usage of local materials within a 1.000 kilometer radius is one tangible step to reduce carbon footprints, while also ensuring supply chain quality and sustainability. The Company also choose low-carbon building materials and strives to preserve native vegetation within development areas as part of ecosystem conservation efforts.

“We believe that responsibility toward environment must begin since the stage of project planning and project development. Every decision we make takes into account its long-term environmental impact,” Theresia added.

Energy management has also become one of the main indicator of sustainability. All buildings listed in the PT Intiland Development Tbk 2024 Sustainability Report recorded an Energy Consumption Index (IKE) below 250 kWh/m², in accordance with national regulation. This achievement highlights the effectiveness of energy efficiency strategies across its properties.

In terms of waste management, the Company recorded a 2,5% reduction or equivalent to 44 tons in total managed waste compared to the previous year. This reduction resulted from the implementation of new waste management initiatives and strengthened waste hierarchy practices focused on reduce, reuse, and recycle principles.

Meanwhile, water conservation efforts have also yielded positive results, particularly at the South Quarter mixed-use and high-rise development in Jakarta. The usage of recycled water in the area increased to 47,8% of total operational needs, up significantly from 29,8% in 2023 and 25,5% in 2022. According to Theresia, this increase reflects Intiland’s consistency in managing natural resources responsibly and sustainably.

“Commitment toward sustainability goes beyond environmental efforts. Intiland also places social responsibility as a vital part of its business operations. Throughout 2024, a total of 735 local workers were employed in projects across Jakarta, Tangerang, Batang, and Surabaya,” Theresia said.

Intiland’s projects have created employment opportunities both directly through company operations and indirectly through tenant activities. In addition, customer satisfaction remains a priority. According to a 2024 survey, satisfaction with Intiland’s products and services reached 80%, same as the previous year. This serves as a key indicator of consistent service quality.

“We realize that customer trust can only be earned through sustained quality. That’s why we continue to innovate so that our products and services remain relevant with the need of society,” Theresia stated.

In terms of human capital development, Intiland upholds values of equality and inclusivity which in line with labor regulations. In 2024, total employee training reached 8.575 hours or an average of 7 hours per employee. The numbers increase significantly from average of 4,7 hours per employee in the previous year. These training programs are focused on enhancing employee capability and readiness to face future industry challenges.

Intiland’s social contributions were also reflected through 40 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities focused on environmental preservation and improving the welfare of communities surrounding its projects. These initiatives include building public infrastructure, providing education assistance and donations, and youth empowerment programs such as the Intiland Youth Panel.

As part of efforts to assess the impact of its social programs, Intiland uses the Social Return on Investment (SROI) method. In 2024, the average SROI value reached 1,9x, increase from 1,01x in the previous year. “We want to ensure that our social investments are not merely symbolic, but truly generate meaningful impact and value for society,” Theresia emphasized.

With its sustained commitment to both aspects—environmental and social—, Intiland believes that responsible development is the key to creating long-term value for all stakeholders.
