Surabaya (15/11) – Golf Graha Famili & Country Club (Golf Graha Famili), one of Surabaya’s leading golf courses, organized a golf tournament which the organizer dubbed Glowing Partee. The golf tournament was held coinciding with the 20th anniversary of Golf Graha Famili. It turned to be a very special tournament, as it was entered into Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI) for Amateur Golf Tournament with the Most Prizes.
General Manager of Golf Graha Famili, Simon J. Wirawan said the golf tournament, which was held on November 7 and 8, and on November 14 and 15, 2015, offered various interesting prizes as well grand prizes of six cars and several motorcycles, along with dozens of other prizes.
“Different from the previous tournaments, the one we have this year offers so many prizes that it is entered into Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI). We really appreciate our sponsors for their support toward making the tournament a success,” Simon said in Surabaya.
Aside from being part of the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Golf Graha Famili, the tournament is the way the management of Golf Graha Famili shows their appreciation to golfers who have made use of Golf Graha Famili for their golfing experience. The golf tournament got support from various sponsors, including PT Era Indonesia, Praxis, Bank Mandiri, Honda, PHMI, Swan Menganti Park, Askrindo, Bank BCA, Club Car, Whiz Hotel, Bali Paragon and Kayu Manis Villa.
The big number of prizes offered in the tournament this year drew many participants. The number of golfers signing up for the tournament reached more than 850 participants. They came not only from Surabaya, but also from outside of Surabaya and beyond Java Island, such as from Jakarta, Bali, Mataram, Makassar, Banjarmasin, Balikpapan, and even Papua.
The tournament was divided into six shotguns or groups. On November 7 and 8, 2015 the first and second shotguns kicked off the tournament. On November 14, the third and fourth shotguns took their turn; and on the fifth and sixth shotguns had their turn on November 15, 2015.
The committee limited the number of the participants so that those who joined could compete in a comfortable setting and they could play their best golf.
The peak of the anniversary celebration and the closing of the tournament saw the organizer of the tournament and the management of Golf Graha Famili hold a gala dinner attended by around 1,000 invited guests. The gala dinner was made more festive with assorted entertainment, door prize drawing and the announcement of the winner of the grand prizes.
“Besides the entertainment and the acknowledgement of the winners, during the gala dinner, we also have the ceremony for the acceptance of the MURI certificate,” Simon said further.
Since last year, the management of Golf Graha Famili has planned programs that are geared to promoting sports and games, and healthy lifestyle for the children and local communities in Surabaya. Diverse types of games and sports facilities are available at Golf Graha Famili, including for recreation and entertainment.
